We stayed at this fantastic place in central Illinois - it was a privatey cabin in the country - owned by a very nice couple! It's called Coyote Cabins - you can google it if you're interested - very reasonable rates, and they even have a crockpot supper with homemade bread and a bottle of wine for you the first night you're there!

Oh wow, Newtondak, Coyote Cabins sounds really nice. I'll have to check it out for a getaway sometime when I'm tired of work. And the place is right in my state. A crockpot supper is about the best there is and I would sure enjoy that...would be better than the fare you usually get in restaurants that are so cookie-cutter'ish.

It's in a pretty isolated area, and there aren't too many restaurants in the vicinity. There is a very good grocery store in the nearest town and the cabin is supplied with both a gas grill and a fire pit.
We happened across it on the internet last year when we were looking for a place to stay while attending the Farm Progress Show about an hour away from there. The hotels/motels get booked early for this show, and so we searched for campgrounds and cabins in the area and found this one.
Mike and Jackie, who own and operate it are the most wonderful people that you will ever meet!

Sounds really nice. I definitely will have to venture up that way sometime. I'm kinda sorta familiar with Lake Shelbyville and have been to Sullivan, Illinois a few times. I would have to plan about 2 months ahead of time so that I could see about my vacation day availability. Looks like the Spa Package would be so ideal.
