i am a student in republic poly in singapore and we learn by the problem based method.. i feel that this is a really good method to learn as i work better as a team instead of listening to the teacher go on and on and on.. i tend to doze off...lol.. using pbl i feel more engaged in class and it is easier to get good grades..(i am a B average) so... do you think that pbl learning is good? or bad???

Well..I think thats a better method of teaching.Obviuosly the ultmate aim of teaching/learning is to gain knowledge for implementing things and learning handson enables you actually practise and stays in memory for a longer time.It helps you learn better.

Students learn differently and in your case, since you learn better when you engage with other people and faced with the problem, then PB method is just for you. In my case, I am a visual and tactile learner so I learn better when I do readings and taking down notes. HAnd-ons are also effective on me but not all the time. FAce-to-face and discussions are sometimes effective but it depends on the teacher and the method the teacher will employ to keep the class interactive and lively.
