My job is to coordinate volunteers. I think about 40% of my job is just to listen to my volunteers. This is what I think makes our program different. People get to volunteer but it is also a social thing as well as a therapeutic thing! Does your job take good listening skills?

My job requires me to listen too. Aside from doing most of the talking as a tecaher. I also give the time to my students to talk, for them to participate. Once they are participating I am patiently listening and waiting for them to construct a good sentence. Yes, it requires me to have a good listening skill since English is a second language for them I need to listen carefully to know if they have learned the right pronunciation of every word. I also listen to them as they respond to our comprehension activity. It is very important that they understand what they are learning.

I don't think of it as a job more of a duty to my friends, or is it just the same? I always listen to my friends and I was so glad to find out they appreciate and notice. sorry, I feel like i'm being all mushy, right now...
