Why do kids meals always seem to come with baked beans and chips (fries)?

Although i do not eat out alot i have found that nearly every time i go into a cafe the kids meals always come with baked beans and chips.
Surely in this day and age of healthy eating they could offer an alternative.
I have a 11 year old daughter who dislikes beans and chips she would much prefer a fruit salad. My seven year old son also does not like beans. So this leaves them with a very limited choice. The only place i have found that offers more variety is a vegetarian restaurant in my home town but it can be very expensive so is a rare treat.

Maybe they think that beans and chips are good for kids. I know kids love chips but beans? I could not get my kids to eat beans. If I tried to entice them to eat beans they would call long distance and tell their mother.
