Wow! Vacation! It was MAHVULUS DAHLING!

My hubby and I just went for five days to New Hampshire. I have a vacation condo there that I own for a week in May. We haven't been able to afford to go for a few years, but we planned on it this year. Due to a mixup in mail service and the wonderful unreliable service of a company that was sending us some money they owed us, we didn't get a check that we were expecting on time to leave for our expected departure on Sunday.

We were supposed to meet my mom and my two Japanese aunts at a restaurant in Vermont on Sunday afternoon before going to our vacation condo. Saturday, not having received the check, I phoned the resort, very sad, to tell them we wouldn't be coming. They said if the check arrived later in the week we were welcome to come spend at least a few days of our designated week since it had been reserved for us. I also called my mom to tell her we would be at dinner at the restaurant but not going on vacation.

After dinner on Sunday at the restaurant in Vermont, my mom hand some cash to my kids, you know how grandmas do. As we were walking out of the restaurant, preparing to drive back home, my mom snuck an envelope to me. I couldn't believe it. There was enough money in it for us to make our vacation!

Later that afternoon, after taking my kids back to their dad's so they could go to school in the week, we packed up and went off to our vacation. It was so much fun, so very quiet and peaceful just to be away from everything, no ringing phone, no kids asking for the car keys, etc. You can see pictures of our vacation at http://www.facebook.com/a...
