What do you think made David Cook win AI?  |

 I thought the last season was pretty scripted and predictable. But during the final battle between the two Davids was head to head. What do you think made each David win or lose?

1.  mialei23 (2523) | 2 years ago |  well, its a popularity contest, I thought David A. will be the winner. But its really make me upset seeing David C. won the title. Sorry for the David C. fan out there. I know guys we have different likes. But what made David A. is the votes he had during the finale, David Cook is a rocker while David A. is a ballad singer. If we change the txt voting out of the final decision of judges, I think David A. will won. This is only an opinion for me.

Maybe Simon did that on purpose of giving the favor and declaring David Archuleta was better than David Cook on all the three songs that they performed during the finals to make rave for David Cook votes. If that's true, then I like Simon's style. I like both David A and David C, but I like David C better and I'm happy he won the contest.

| 2. bjcyrix (2865) | 2 years ago |  Hi! Welcome to myLot. I think David Cook won, well apart from the votes, is because he really showed off his talent. He found that kind of music and kind of songs that work for him and his voice. Though I like David A. too, he is still young and cant sing far from a ballad. Sure he can pull off up tempo songs but its not as good as his ballads. If he found the right pitch and arrangement that can show off his voice in upbeat songs he would have won. With David C. he can mix up his own songs and knows what kind of music works for him. I think the day that Simon got upset with his 'people will be the one voting and not him', he finally found his perfect string. When he got the confidence for those songs so did his fan base. It swelled up like a balloon very fast. David A. had a solid fanbase from the start but it just didnt grow as fast. So I guess thats why they won and lost. I still love both of them and for me both of them deserve to win thats why I wanted a tie.LOL^_^

Like what Simon said, he doesnt care who won because both of them deserve it. The thing is I do care who wins and I want both of them^_^ so since as Ryan says it "There can only be ONE American Idol." Im quite good with either of the two.^_^ | |

because im a big fan of david a.
well,,
i also thought that this season is really predictable,,
i thought its pretty obvious that archuleta will win,,
he has the angelic voice, charming, and he got better in every performance of his,,
i was shocked that cook was proclaimed ai of this season
i think that david a. was staged and the producers have been against him(sorry for the david c.'s fans)

There were so many others on there that sounded better to me like Micheal Johns, the other David that got voted off, Syesha,Brooke and also David Archuleta. I don't get it but a lot of others liked David Cook. I guess because the way he redid songs like "Hello" by Lionel Richie.

When I heard her sang I'm so vain, her husky voice was gorgeous, it really stood. You can already tell it's Brooke who is singing. The same with David Archuleta, he also have a distinctive voice that when you listen over the radio you'll know he is the singing.
I also like Ramielle Malubay because she is cute but she also didn't pick the right song for her. Everytime she sings, she don't give her best shot. Everyone wants to get that chance to become an American Idol, but I felt she was always holding back. She also have this distinct voice that you can always refer to her.
David Cook, on the other hand, also have a very good rockstar voice. A rockstar voice that does not irritate much. I'm not just that comfortable when he sings onstage because you can see him almost having a very difficult time belting out long and high notes. But he really have stage presence than David Archuleta. | |

It was hard for her to sing that sort of music during Dolly Parton week. I think Brooke still has a good chance of making it big and so does a lot of others. I mean I have seen a lot of past American Idols like Chris Daughtry and Kellie Pickler from Season 5 that have made it very big. Espically Chris daughtry. | |

I think David Cook smashed it... According to the performances of David C., I think he really did his best to be the best performer of AI ever... He really proved Simon Cowell that he can win the charisma of the audience and fans...

i like both davids but as personal i like david a better because david c bit arrogant but i must admit he is very suitable as rocker recording artist

| 9. crazyoverpurple (2927) | 2 years ago |  well both davids sang well. the thing with david a. is, he seems to sing from within his comfort zone. remember when he sang chris brown's WITH YOU? it didn't reap much praise. the song just didn't suit his voice. whereas with david c., he's not afraid to venture out of his comfort zone and he seems to continuously experiment with his performances. and his vocal range is wide, plus he's got the x-factor that would definitely sell him tons of records and probably some shows, too.
