How many of you feel that you have not locked the house door properly just secnds after locking it...? How many run back to the door to double check it again...?
I always have that fear when i lock the door and have run back couple of times to re-check.What about you....?

I have never lived in an 'unsafe' neighborhood, so I grew up never really thinking about it. My grandparents (who raised me) Would only ever lock the doors if they were going out, and as I grew older, they wouldn't even do that very often because they knew I could look after the house. They only started being paranoid about the door being locked when my mom married this really... Unsavory type guy, who was manipulative and mean, and acted like he wanted to steal gramma's diamond engagement ring.

I inherited that paranoia from my mother. My husband used to make fun of it until his appartment was broken into (before we were married). He still sometimes thinks I'm ridiculous but he, too, double and triple checks the doors before going to bed, lol.

I am very happy to be able to tell everybody that I do not have this type of obsessive compulsive disorder. However I did scare myself silly once. I had apparantly forgotten to turn off my light when a friend called to ask me over. When I got back home and I saw lights on I was convinced that there was a burglar ransacking my place trying to find something to steal. I don't have a lot of stuff let alone anything worth stealing. But I was still scared. After all you don't know how agressive a burglar may be in the first place, let alone if they are peed off because it wasn't worth their while!
