During my second pregnancy I developed a seafood allergy - disaster! I am a seafood addict & found this VERY hard to handle. I went the whole pregnancy from around 10 weeks with no form of fish, shellfish, etc & even 12 months after my son was born as I was breastfeeding him and my doctor advised me not to try anything until he was 12 months in case he was the cause of the allergy. After his 12 month immunisations the doctor said to go and try seafood - both me and my son - but to avoid anything from the deep sea until we were sure we were both not allergic. I went straight out and bought some fish for the whole family to have for dinner that night & boy was it good! My son and I were both ok and had no allergic reactions at all - actually my son loves seafood as much as I do! Has anyone else ever had anything like this happen - a spontanious allergic reaction to seafood after you have been able to eat it all your life?

Oh you poor thing, I couldn't imagine not eating seafood for so long. I love it also, and would eat it daily if I could afford to, or I could go out and catch it daily! My wife doesn't like seafood, but that just means more for me, LOL! I don't have, and never developed, any allergies, although when I was a kid, I tried to tell mum I was allergic to vegetables. I don't know why she didn't believe me, LOL!

Wow. You sound like me when I was pregnant. I didn't develop an "allergy", but for some reason, every time I drank milk I would feel really, really sick. I stopped drinking it for the rest of my pregnancy. I do have some kind of an aversion to tuna though ever since I was pregnant. The smell really put me off and now I can't seem to bring myself to eat it ever since.

Oh wow, I couldn't get enough milk when I was pregnant both times, it helped a but with the heartburn! I had the same trouble with a few things while pregnant - the smells got to me & I haven't had them since!
