I already know. I would not.But someone has jsut don this to me.After borrowing a display peice to use at a market, almost a year ago, I've finaly got it back, but it now needs to be fixed as it now cann't be used again.I guess it got broken cause it's been in the back of my freinds van all this time.I would have expected she would have a least put it safely in her house, it's only small and she has a 3 storey home. She just tryed to make out she couldn't see anything wrong when I said something.I just think this is so wrong. And I had been asking for it back all this time, she just "couldn't find" the time yo return it.What kind of person does this ?

If I damaged something while borrowing it from a friend I would contact the friend and let them know what happened. Then dicuss with the friend what they would like down. Would they want it repaired (if it was able to be repaired). Or of they would like a new one. It is just the right thing to do.

The right thing to do in a situation like that is to confess to the damage, and do what needs to be done to repair or replace the item, and pay for all damages. I would be honest and let the person know what happened, and take responsibility for repair or replacement.

People don't appreciate friendship sometimes. I guess this means they are not really friends. A lot of people won't bother to look after something that belongs to someone else. They didn't give it back to you because they were guilty. Just wait for a while and do the same to them, borrow something and then say you don't know where it is. I'm normally not a "get even" sort of person but people like these need to learn not to be mean. They should have offered to pay you, or repair or replace the item. I reckon you won't hear from them again.

I would tell them that I had damaged it and offer to pay for the repairs or get her a new one. I think that is the right thing to do.

If i had broken someyhing that i borrowed from a friend i would immediately tell it to her and explain everything. I would not pretend i did not do it since it is my responsibilty to take of it since it's not mine. I'll talk to him of what i can do or replace it if he wants.
