I want to buy a subaru legacy outback, perhaps a oldie one,perhaps 87 -99, looking for a second car, cheap and reliable, I like the subaru outback, a fan o subaru, I will like to know about it, any informati9on is welcome,I did see two things that make me thinjg,these two things special things are: 1 -the 1997 has a head gasket problem, for what I did read abouto 110 - 130 k miloes, it happens only once or it will come back ever 110 - 130 k miles ? 2 - what is subaru legacy outback STI ? in what diferecnce foir a norm,al one, i know about the limited and the 230 th year aniversary, but the STI ? Thanks any comments will be appreciated.

I don't own a subaru myself and I hope someone who knows more about this responds. What I know about it what I read in the magazines. It caught my eye because of the unique way that it handles curves and how the rear tires can be steered just like the front wheels.
