I just found this article on kansas.com.houston police are getting ready to spend $150,000 on defending the police departments ban on beards saying they don`t want beards on there police officers because they won`t look professional and some of the officers that have filed the law suit say they have skin conditions and that this ban is discriminatory. You know I never thought about that before I don`t think I have ever seen a cop with a beard I mean I guess I understand there point but I don`t think I would disrespect a officer just because he had a beard.

Some businesses require men to keep their beard trimmed and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. And I guess when you are in the military there are rules against beards.
My question would be, how can they spend that much money on a simple rule?
