| Organized? What's that? Haha! I'm not very good at it, aesthetically speaking. I have my own method... an organized mess. I know where everything is and that's enough for me. I make daily lists, which are the only things that allow me to get things done. (Of course, sometimes I forget where I put the list!) The list is always on paper. My husband prefers his lists kept on his cell phone, but they just confuse me. I prefer something I can glance at in an instant and not have to push a bunch of buttons to get to. One list. That's all. I have one of those day-minder things and I always write down things like doctor's appointments, birthdays, etc. But for the daily things, it's one list. When papers pile up to the point of threatening to fall over, I sit down with them, a bunch of empty manilla folders in my lap, and start filing. When I'm finished, I put them in my file drawers. Closets are another area that usually need some kind of organization. I put the things I wear least often in the back of the closet. The rest I organize according to type: pants, blouses, sweaters, etc. I'm still a slob when it comes to shoes, though. They usually get thrown into the closet and land where they may. I don't wear a lot of "good" shoes because I don't work outside the home and don't need many good shoes. (Those that I do have I keep in clear plastic boxes.) Oh, so many things! I do my best but there never seems to be enough time to organize everything. Maybe that's because I'm a hobby nut. I have a lot of projects going on at one time so, as far as organizing goes, out of sight, out of mind. I'm happy with my system, though. It works for me. I guess that's what counts, huh? I hope you get a lot of good suggestions. I'll keep checking back to see if there are any I might find useful. Thanks for posting! |
