Kids bed.. Berth System..

I used to tell my little boy that I would buy him a double-deck bed so that he could invite friends over but we ended up with two single beds. He still brought friends to sleepover which is fine.

I haven never heard of the berth system but going on your picture it kind of looks like what we call a trundle bed - although i'm not 100% sure.

I guess it all depends on the size of the house that you live in as to whether making all the kids share the same space is necessary or not.

I have a usual 3 bedroom house but plan to extend it out when we have the chance. For the moment though, we have 1 little girl who has a nice sized room, all to herself & has a normal single bed, all to herself.

The 2nd bedroom is a little smaller so when we have a child in there that needs a normal bed, we'll either go with another normal single bed or if money allows, we'll get a full work station that has a bed built in with a desk & storage space etc - but only because the 2nd bedroom isn't overly big. We're expecting baby #2 in just a few weeks so i guess when he's all grown & out of the cot etc, we'll wait & see what we do in the way of beds!

I think people usually just buy whatever is the best option for the amount of room they have to spare, so the berth system is probably only necessary if you have more than 1 child but have a small place in which to put them!
