| |  He was being his usual, tasteless, despicable self. He was implying that "inbreeding" is common in West Virginia.
Senator Byrd (W.Va.) said that Cheney's comments were "an insult to all Americans." He also said that Cheney "showed contempt and astounding ignorance toward his own countrymen." (See CNN story).
Cheney is a political dinosaur. Thankfully, he will be out soon.

| |  After he told the joke he went on to say "We can say these things when we're not running for reelection," which to me makes it even worse. He's supposed to ve Vice President of the UNITED STATES but, he said it himself, it's fine to diss an entire state when he doesn't need their votes anymore. What an a$$hole!
