i just read the story. That is really stupid of this guy to put his social security number out there like someone wasn't going to try and steal it. The worst part being that they actually succeeded which makes him look like more of a moron cause that just proves that his service doesn't work!! I would never pay someone to protect my identity. I think that is your own job to do.

wow thanks for that information! i had considered lifelock, but i figured it was something you had to pay for and i can't afford anything extra. its scary to think that people can do so many different things with your identity. i'm surprised that it hasn't been on the news yet. that information should be told to the public and everyone who has been paying for that service thinking they are completely safe.

Wow...I was just watching a program yesterday about identity theft and was seriously considering getting lifelock or something similar. It's such a shame that we have to worry about people stealing our good name and credit ratings....and the costs and headache if it happens! What are we to do?
