what does running air runes mean  

its when ppl remain at the air altar to craft air runes, while the 'runners' go back and forth the altar and the bank to bring essence. the people who are crafting the rune are either paying the runners with air runes or gp.

well running air runes refers to people going to the falador bank closest to the air alter so you can trade 25 rune essence for usually 3k and your ess back but now you can't run air runes. Unless your just doing that without going to the alter trading someone.

With the new assist system you run essence out from Falador to the air alter. Once there you'll request assistance from a high level crafter who is waiting. You'll then be able to craft the runes at his level thus getting yourself lots more runes while he gets the xp.

IT's where the runner takes runes to air rune crafters and get in exchange the rune ess they brought to them and some money or the air runes from the last run the person got

it's like a skill that requires a air tiara/talisman, no levels, (as it is not a skill you can get levels off of)and 25 rune essence. Go to air altar trade with people saying open 2k trade them 25 rune essence they will give back 25 noted ess and 2k for you 25 unnoted essence. Go to falador bank and repeat and you earn 2k a time.

Dam! I hate that 3k rule! Omfg! Why did they do it??

Air running is simply the process when someone is at the alter waiting for the "runners" to run from bank to them, when the runner does get to thm, they should have an inventory or rune essencce, they then assist the person waiting at the alter so that the person standing at the alter gets the xp and the person with the air runes. But remember always look for people saying 9x, dont go to people saying like 6x because the higher the number the more air runes you will get back which means more money per load.Be aware of people who might say 9x but might not even have 3x, they might just be triking you so dont fall for it. And try to stick with one person because then he will get to know you and will assist you over others because you were loyal. Air running is a great way to make money in f2p as well and its a very profitable skill and you can do it at any level, as long as you have enough money to buy the rune essence, (buy from grand exchange), if you dont have enough money you can mine them your self. The best place to mine them yourself is to go to varrock, where you buy the runes and as him to teleport you to mine rune essence ( you must have completed rune mysteries which is a very short quest!)

Runecrafters gain very fast experience and runners gain money.
This isn't possible now because of the 3k rule and grand exchange.
Jagex made runecrafting guild so players now can train runecrafting faster.
