Black love

I dont think that it will change... I think that he really loves this woman.... I like when he got on the media so quickly to tell them to lay off of her

I won't comment on the state of the Obhama's relationship but I think its high time we saw more black couples showing love to each other and I think the media should be glamoursing the way black couples can be as functioning and happy in a loving family environment, where a mother and father exist happily together.

Perhaps its because I don't live in America or in the West, but I can't for the life of me understand why people loved to glorify life in the ghettos. During my time in university, I actually heard people talk about how black people who became working professionals were regarded as "Selling out" their own kind. Somehow, it's become almost a cool thing to show black people who climb out of the ghetto as being uncool and racial traitors - I think the phrase someone used of Bill Cosby was "Bourgeoisie "Black."

What was wrong with showing a black man working as a doctor, living in a nice house and being married to the same woman and dare I say being around for the kids! Studies have shown that African-American communities have a high proportion of Single-parent households and the corellates to the poverty of the community. It's high time we started showing "Black Love" in a better light - its highly necessary to get a long suffering community out of the mind set that its somehow not ok to succeed.
