I feel equally happy with a simple bag against a designer bag.

I have heard of designer bags and seen them on sale. Only they are way beyond my budget, but then, when one goes to see them, they look ordinary. They have a name and fancy buttons, clips etc. But I can get nearly similar ones for much cheaper and it never bothers me that my clothes, bags and shoes are not designer brand. I am happy with all the little things in life that come my way, even bargaining for a t shirt. When I was persented with a pure leather bag by a relative, I used it like all other bags. Nothing special, no special feeling etc. Do you feel the same way or do brands matter

as for me, the brand doesn't really matter much. i usually buy bags that are cheap because like you, designer bags are way off my budget. but i do buy designer bags once in a while if they are on sale, like 50-70% sale. i think its impractical to buy too expensive bags. they are just bags like any other bags. but when i buy designer bags on sale, its not because its branded but because the quality is better than the fake and imitation ones. sometimes though i can't avoid but buy bags of low quality. that's when i would see a bag with a design that i instantly like and i would buy it regardless of how low the quality is. ^__^;; but i am guilty of treating designer bags with more care than the cheaper ones i have.

Good ol us. Same wavelength. I cant see myself buying branded ones, even on sale they are really costly. Here designer bags cost anything between 50,000 to 100,000 so even in sale, they are beyond my means. The cost of living in India is very high and value of money very little. So things blow out of proportion. And anyway, if bags and clothes dont wear off, how will I buy new things ?

I cant see the point in the designer handbags at all...they dont do anything for me.My daughter went to Primark..a cheap UK store and she bought a lovely bag for a couple of pounds..and the beauty of it is that when she gets fed up with it she can just change it...my other daughter she bought a Vivienne Westwwod bag and paid hundreds of pounds for it..well i couldnt help but show my disgust that someone could spend all of that money on a handbag when half of the world has nothing!! I think its just awful!!!..we went to a little shop to get my neice who is a teenager a bag for a present and we bought her a gucci fake for ten pounds ..a nice bag with a shoulder strap and a fashionable one too!!
