Veronica Mars - Try it

In need of something to watch during the summer hiatus? Then I highly recommend Veronica Mars! Pick up the dvd's - there are three seasons - which you can find quite cheap sometimes (I've seen them as low as $20 per season). You won't regret it. This series was preemptively cancelled due to the poor marketing team at CW. People get the wrong idea and think that this is a fluffy, high-school, teen series - but they couldn't be more wrong. You'd be hard pressed to find a tv show with such witty writing, superb acting (especially by Kristen Bell) and engaging mysteries. There are actually quite a lot of adult/older time references. The first two seasons were easily the best - with an overarching mystery for each season with a separate mystery in each episode. It reels you in from the very first episode of each season. Then the series jumped to the CW and this is where I thought the network shot themselves in the foot. Rather than having one overarching mystery, they split the third season in half with two separate mysteries. And the marketing team didn't do a very good job promoting the smart and acerbic wit of the writing, instead they tried to hype up the lead's romances which, don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed, but was not the main point of the series. Anyway, pick up or rent the dvd's if you haven't already, and give this fantastic show a chance! If you've already watched the show, what did you think of it?

My daughter brought home a DVD one night because Jonathon Taylor Thomas was in one of the episodes. So, we watched that one and she went to bed. I decided to watch the other two or three episode on the DVD. I was HOOKED! I can't add anymore to what you and the first responder said...you guys pretty much covered everything I loved about the show. (And I love Kristen Bell to begin with). I did rent more of the DVD's but I haven't seen all of them yet. Definitely worth watching!!

Hi above31rubies! You started off with my favorite episode of season 1 because, as you know, that's when the whole Veronica and Logan relationship (to me) came out of nowhere! The show is like potato chips, you can't pop just one. Heh! You gotta keep on watching. Thanks for the response!
