Have you ever been offended by the Simpsons TV show?

Simpsons is just plain fun. And, sure, they're kind of stupid sometimes. But, some people take the show way too seriously. Family Guy and American Dad cover much more controversial topics than the Simpsons.
Have you ever known someone who got completely offended over something Bart or Homer said? I mean, come on, it's a cartoon! What do you think? Should one really take offense over a cartoon?

Well my hubby has banned my son from watching them lol. My oldest son has decided he his homer and will choke his brother when hes mad at him. We have stopped it but we feel he learned it from Homer and now he doesnt get to watch it.

You've made a really good point. Some children do mimic what they see on TV. I had to cut out another cartoon where the character kicks his friend. Can't remember the name. Other than the kicking it's a harmless show. No foul language and no fighting. Just the kicking, once. But, my little girl picked up the habit and kicked everyone in the house, for a week, including the cats! That's a big no-no! She's a bit older now and doesn't do that anymore.

i've never been offended by something said or done on the simpsons. its a cartoon, its a joke and made for laughs, its not meant to be taken seriously. i've never known anyone thats gotten offended by it either. i think everyone i know is easy going like me and knows not to get offended by it. i think you are right too, family guy and american dad are much worse.

I feel the same way! Family guy is only meant for the adults, not the kiddies. Simpsons is just plain fun!

I have not been offended from the words of any character on "The Simpsons", nor do I know anyone who has been. Most people I know who don't watch the show don't watch it simply because they don't find it interesting, not because they find it offensive.

I will agree that family guy is much more worse than the simpsons is. I however have no probelm with either show. I do think that people take these shows way too seriously.

If somebody I knew was offended I would tell them to suck it up or don't watch. These shows are for entertainment purposes only. Sometimes we just need stupid mindless stuff! I love em!
