Best ways to advertise inexpensively

My girl friends and started a business last November. We began selling on E-bay to test the waters, get feedback etc. We think we are doing pretty well for a new business. We have posted advertisements on a lot of free ad sites but a lot of them paricularly craigs list send us so many scam artists. We are putting flyers on cars now in our local area but I am wondering how effective that is? Is there a better way? Just looking for some ideas. I started on my lot last night and I feel like I will become addicted. By the way I have started a blog but I don't know where to find the url feeds? my bog is from blogspot- life is Beautiful. Any help out there?
