is plaster of paris the best option when making plaques?

Hi all i am going to start making some plaques for my website, i am getting the stuff to make the molds now all i need to know is whether plaster of paris is the best material to use?

i love making plaques i often draw off a design on a piece of soft wood and then carve out the design into a soft piece of wood that is make like a plaque i am not that expierenced when it comes to making molds though...at least not yet when i get more time on my hands i am planning on getting better at it and trying to teach myself more about how to do them i think you should talk to a worker at the craft store that you got all your materials from and see what they think the best material to use is
