What deck are you playing? (Magic The Gathering) |
| |
| I'm playing with UW merfolks now. It's very adaptive and can be played as agro or control depending on the current situation. I'm also building an elf deck around "Immaculate Magistrate" and "Thousand-Year Elixir". What about you? | | | | | |

| | I've only recently got back in to playing Magicafter quitting sometime shortly after the release of Ice Age. All my decks are pretty casuual and basic but my favorite one is a typical GB Elf deck. | | | | | | |

| | I base my decks around green then use a sub-element of either red or black. Green has just always been my favorite. I incorporate red due to its raw power and effects like trample. I sometimes use Black because of the defensive capabilities. some times i also add a few artifact creatures basically myrs and whatnot. my strongest deck is composed of mainly an onslaught of high power low cost low defense monsters, supported with about three to five flyers and a few high cost high defense low attackers. the high defense monsters generally are my attackers because they last the longest. i then use support cards like blanch wood armor and other offensive magicks to beef them up as theyll less likely be destroyed and will therfore have a higher chance of being able to use a power attack | | | | | | |

| | I used to play magic weekly with a regular group of people but we lost our venue soon after Mirrodin block and I'm not that current now. Me and some friends still play but we don't stick to block or type 1 or 2 anymore. We tend to just build random decks that are fun and chaotic. I have a white weenie deck from Onslought block, and also a mainly onslought block zombie deck. I have a golem deck which uses the mycosynth golem to overrun then drops a Bosch and starts flinging things. i also have a wicked theivery deck which uses cards from a large range of blocks, new and old. I've recently built a deck using the mephidross vampire, triskilion combination, using energy chambers, pentad prisms and core tappers. | | | | | | |

| | The deck I'm currently putting together consists of the Zuberas out of the Kamigawa block. It uses four copies of each two mana cost zubera (20 cards) and uses a bunch of mana fixers like birds, utopia tree, city of brass, gemstone mine. The point of the deck is to go into combo with phyrexian altar, throwing out massive abilities while maintaining the mana to continue the "sack-age". I host a bunch of support like diabolic intent and for recursion, second sunrise and patriarch's bidding. It's a fun deck to play, but is destroyed by certain cards like cranial extraction or extirpate lol. Still, fun ^_^ | | | | | | |

| | using standard cards at the moment.. 10th ed,Lorwyn-Shadowmoor block, Alara Block -- I am using Red Demigod Wins (RDW).. Creatures: (16) 4 Demigod of Revenge 4 ashenmoor gouger 4 boggart ram gang 4 figure of destiny Spells: (21) 4 magma spray 4 lashout 4 incinerate 4 puncture blast 4 flame javelin 1 unwilling recruit Lands: (23) 23 Mountains SB: 4 pyroclasm 2 manabarbs 2 everlasting torment 2 spiteful visions 4 spitebellows 1 guttural response -- been using this deck for about 2 months already and i am having decent FNM results landing consistently at the top 3.. in whatever deck we are using, good sideboarding is very much important.. and considering the current metagame, good board control cards are important sunch as Wrath of Gods - white, infest - black, pyroclasms - red, cryptic command - blue.. what about green?.. just stomp your way in.. possibly with elves+bramblewood paragon+imperious perfects.. hehehe | | | | | | |

| | I stopped playing when Eventide came out so I'm not familiar with Shards of Alara (I only know few cards of Eventide itself). I guess it's time to start again... I did play against some variant of your deck before and it gave me some hard time. But seriously...Gouger? Can't you find something better to replace it? I need to make myself a new deck because lord is unfortunately out of standard:( I wonder if I can sill play merfolks without him and have a chance to win... I'm also playing warrior elves. Paragon+Perfect+axe for the win:) Only cards I saw from Shards of Alara are planeswalkers. They're cool but kinda overpowered, don't you think? | | | |

| | I'm not a tournament player, but every deck I made revolved around blue. I love blue and I find it a bit difficult to play a deck which is not blue. I played Madness, UB mill, UB ninjas, UR sudden impact, Mirrodin monoblue. | | | | | | |

| | Merfolks and elves and other tribal decks are great as long as you have already placed 5 or more creature cards in the game. Tribal decks have a great probability of winning the game if you can outnumber the opponent's creatures. I play Type 1 cards ( a land destroyer deck). Its very effective against cards with great casting costs. But weak against cards with small casting cost spells. But, a cyborg can cure its weakness especially on tribal decks. | | | | | | |
