My brother totaled his car today!

My Mom called me this evening and said they had just called and said my brother totaled his car and they were taking him to the hospital. He had to be cut out of the car it was so bad. Thank goodness the airbag and seatbelt saved him! He was very lucky. He only has bruises and cuts, no internal injuries or broken bones. The driver of the car that hit him is fine also. I was so scared when I heard the car was totaled! I'm so glad he is ok. My son and I are going over tomorrow to see him.

I'm very sorry to hear that but I am also glad to hear that nothing major happened. I also have a brother and I would NEVER want anything to happen to him so I totally know how scared you must have felt. Hope he recovers and hope he wasn't at fault.

He says as far as he remembers he wasn't at fault. He remembers his light being green, and seeing the lady in the turning lane. Then he doesn't remember anything until someone woke him up to see if he was ok.

MY GOODNESS!! Poor guy. I had a car accident like that once and spent 6 months in therapy but thankfully the other person was at fault so they covered the car and all my hospital bills. But that was almost 4 years ago and I still get back pains occasionally

Thank you. Sorry to hear you are still having pain from your accident. I hope my brother doesn't have any lasting effects, but I know it is likely that he will.

I can imagine how scary that had to be. Glad to hear all were okay they are all very lucky. Have a good time visiting him. So is he still in the hospital or was he released already?

sunnflr, Thank heavens your brother is okay (and the other driver, also) after the car accident. That sounds so scary. Particularly, when they say he, "totaled" the car. Years ago, I was in a minor car accident and it really frightened me. I can only imagine what it would be like to have to be cut out of the car! I am sending many good vibes his way. PearlGrace

Wow - he is very lucky if they had to cut him out! I am so sorry this happened, but very glad it wasn't any worse. He may have after effects, though, so keep an eye on him. Post traumatic stress and hidden injuries can pop up at any time. But, I am glad he's OK. Really!

Thank you. He will be staying with my Mom for the next week or so and she will keep an eye on him. The doctor's told him not to do anything for the next few days.
