I thought my children and I were going to die

We went camping this weekend and in the middle of the night on Saturday the rain started coming down hard and the wind picked up quickly. It was only a matter of minutes before I knew I had to get them out of the tent. I held the tent with my back and arms as I told them to grab their shoes and at the count of 3 they were to run to the car. It took all my power to hold up the tent as I watched them leave through the door. I tried to zip the tent back up as quickly as possible but it was a difficult task as the wind was pulling it and the rain was soaking me. I ran to the car and drove up to the restrooms which was also not easy as the rain was coming down so fast my wipers couldn't keep up. Once there again I said on the count of 3 run to the bathroom and instructed my oldest daughter to take my youngest daughter by the hand. I followed behind them as we made it to the bathroom. When we got there it was time to take a breath. Many others were there and we all remained rather quiet due to the fact that everyone else I am sure was praying as hard as I was. It wasn't long before the others I was camping with made it to the bathroom and we all hugged but still not much talking. Finally the storm seemed to calm down so we head back to see the damage. Our tent had a pole go straight through it and one pole broke in half. We were drenched but so were our other clothes so changing was not an option. All of my friends were in popup campers and each also thought this was going to be it. Most of us slept in our cars or at least rested in our cars because more rain came and we were afraid to chance going back in. I turned on the radio in my car once my girls fell a sleep and heard of all the tornados that hit the city from the same storm that past through our camp site. In the city roofs were being ripped off of houses and the storm came up so fast there too that the sirens didn't sound until after some had already lost their homes. I know we were all saved by the grace of God and it sure makes you greatful to be alive. I have never been so scared in my life of losing my children. I thank God they were saved.
