Teenager taking drugs, alcohal, smoking -- what are the causes  |

 As most of teenager start smoking, taking alcohals and even sometimes drugs too.
who is responsiples for this.
may their parents are not interacting with thema nd not giving proper time, or the media and television influencing or the bad circle affect this.
what are the main cause.
i think if parents give some time to their kids then might be these habbits will in low in number.
what you think about that.

1.  ajesh_pullad (1364) | 5 months ago |  Hi onthetop....most of our teenagers are now addicted of any sort of toxic drugs.....from my experience their desire is to taste the drug and then try to taste it and become addict....its the only reason behind the teenagers being addicted of topic drugs.....

| 2. Valenas (809) | 5 months ago |  I think that the parents have some roles in preventing this, but also the child needs to be able to think for himself or herself.
Parents need to get through to the child that drinking and smoking is not the best way to take care of themselves. Parents need to monitor parties, for instance, and need to show their kids that fun can be had without introducing drugs and alcohol and tobacco.
It is rather sad that some parents drink and use with their kids these days. I personally have heard from several people at a school that I used to attend that they get drunk with their moms and/or dads. What kind of role-modeling is that?
Parents tell their children that they drink because they are depressed (alcohol is a depressant, so most do not realize that they are actually making it worse), and when the kid gets depressed, they remember that and start drinking. The parents tell their kid that they smoke because it relieves stress, and when the kid feels stress, they remember that and do as their parents do. The parents need to take responsibility and be the role-model that they could be.
The more responsibility that both parents and their kids take, the less this will happen.

as parents smoking and drinking so when they feel so they also do that as they have easy access to these things in home itself.
i think you are right parents should understand these things ... as kids do the same what they see most. | |

There are some parents that do not smoke and do not drink, and have told their kids that they should not smoke and should not drink, and the kid goes against their parents wishes. Statistically, and I am not saying that there are not a few exceptions to this, everyone picks up a drink and smokes something at some point in their life.
But, in the end, it is the child that makes the decision. More than likely, their parents or friends are not holding a gun to their head and forcing them to do these things, they make the final decision. | |

but i just wanna say that if parents, do talk to their children the percentage will go down ... i am not saying teenage would not do this at all but still this will decrease ...
and you have to tell all the prospect of doing this to their kids and say them take your own decision whether it is good for you or not, but they should guide their kids to take right decision. | |

3.  Lambchoper (404) | 5 months ago |  I think teens get into that type of behavior for a variety of reasons and not all of them are because the parents have screwed up. Experimentation is the teenage catch phrase and I think it's the number one reason some kids try drugs. There are those who are self medicating and then there are those who are simply rebelling.
Parents can try to educate against drugs and they can be there for their kids but it's not going to stop them if they are interested in the drug culture or the shock value of the drug culture.

i have seen many cases of drug addict and most of cases either they have problem with their parents, parents fight to each other or they are seperated or they dont give time to them ..... so they end up in taking drugs....
