Spam mails!!!

I get them everyday! And i get them in tons! But i dont know why i get them...
I have over 4000 spam mails filtered into that spambox every month.
DO you get spam mails?

I guess everyone who has an email account will get spam some time or other. I even started one email account just for myself to send stuff to myself, so that I can keep some files online that will not get deleted; but spam just comes in, even though I haven't used that email account for any external sites whatsoever. Don't know how those spammers managed to track that email address, but I'm pretty frustrated that they did. The story is even worse for those emails that I use for external sites such as registerering as members or other sites and registering for newsletters. I get those spam mails like 20+ in one hour. I just wonder, why are these spammers so free to send all that stupid mail to our inboxes? Don't they have anything else better to do?

It's quiet easy. Most of the third-rate sites sell e-mail lists (containing our sign-up emails) to spammers who have messages of the same interest as the site you signed up for. I suppose they hope we'll follow the link to someplace so that they can get some monetary benefits..
I use gmail, and it has a good spam filtering service.
But still 10 a week miss the spam box.

Well i had same problem, that I just authorised my mails which ever most important, rest all goes into my junk folder automatically. I check monthly one and select report as spam or phishing

I agree with the other participants in this discussion, that almost, if not all email account holders receive spam emails. I, too have a personal email account in my office. But unfortunately, that account wasn't spared with spam emails...
