I will be happy when my son gets out of his up down hormone stage! When does the attitude stop? will I survive? Sometimes he talks to me and I don't even know what language he is speaking. Some of the slang of teens today is unreal.

Honey, you will survive! I have two teenage boys right now, and there are days when I think my brain has fried to the point of no return. However, I have gotten to the point where my sons are tired of explaining to me. I took care of the attitude by something that will probably sound strange to you, but my almost 16 year old still knows where his corner is! When they use a slang word that I just don't get, I make them explain it to me. If they won't or have the attitude from the devil themselves, I put them on a time out until it is explained. Respect is a two way street, and my teens have learned that if they want my respect, they will have to respect me by either using terminology I understand, or explaining it. And if it's inappropriate, well let's just say, they aren't happy when I remove their internet connection for a few days until they have learned that that word will not be used in my home again. Maybe I should have asked the question, will my teens survive me? lol
