Do people actually believe your are younger than than 18?

Today I got a phone call, and the people were asking for a donation, I don't really know who they are. So when the person asked if i was over 18 I said no, he also asked for my parents, I told the person that they were not home. Do you sound younger on the phone and do people believe that you are as young as 16?

People always ask me if my mom is home. I am 33 yrs old and still getting asked that. I have learned to appericate now. I am a tiny little woman, I look like a teen. people always ask my son if I am his sister. he gets very anoyed but it makes me feel good. I would say as you age you will like this.

I get asked the same question and I'm 56. I always say that my mom is not home. and when asked if I'm 18, I tell that person that I'm not 18. When my oldest daughter was in middle school, they thought I was her big sister. Her friends(guys) use to want to hook up with me. It was funny.

Some still believe I'm under 18. Others believe I'm under 21. Long story short, as long as I look like I do, I'll be carded... even assumed underage in casual conversation/events. Growing a beard does nothing either, people honestly see me as a youth. My voice is still odd in its way, sometimes deep, other times very soft. Of course 20 or 30 years now, I'm going to wonder where all of this went.

Anyway some people think I was older than my age when I talk on the phone...lol!Well you better proud yourself bcoz you sound below 18 on the phone....
