Hulk Hogan and family...what a mess  

I don't think the living on camera casued the mess the are in now. I watched that show all the time and they seemed like their marriage was in trouble then who knew what happeed off camera to.

I don't think it's because they lived on camera. People are who they are. If anything I would think people would try to clean up their acts for TV, but then again people loved Jerry Springer. These shows are about people who have fame and live in a world of excess. That right there is enough to cause problems for a lot of people.

It seems funny to me that the accident was on November 7 and she filed for divorce on November 20. That is probably just a move to separate and protect their assets. If she gets the 4+ million, they will still be set if he is drained.

As for the son, if my kid got 4 tickets within a year she wouldn't have a license. I would certainly not give her a vehicle to drive, let alone a sports car. This is where the excess comes in. Some people just think they are above it all. Do I sound cynical? You bet. A young man is sitting in the hospital and another in jail because they didn't put their foot down and discipline him.

I think that we just know more about their problems because they are "celebrities". They are like any other family, with good and bad points, and sometimes at a breaking point.

They said that most of the show was scripted. With all they are going through, I believe it. I hope the media does not give them lots of coverage over this.

I think it may be a little of both. The show gave them a lot of publicity. I noticed that Hulk let the boy get away with more stuff than he did his daughter who is older. From what I have seen on the "show biz" stories and legal news it seems that they think their fame should allow them to get special privileges. I saw that the boy wanted out of jail and be sent home with an ankle bracelet. I have a little worse opinion of the whole family these days.

Could be if ya notice a lot of movie people always have trouble like that in their lifes

I read up that the family already had problems before the show. I forget who agreed to the show, but the whole thing probably didn't help matters. All I say to this (besides the typical "huh") is "meh, whatever".

Their marriage, from what I've read online was actually in trouble before the show started. They decided to go ahead and do the show for some odd reason. They probably thought it would help their relationship or something, who knows. Anyway, so something finally broke the camel's back and they decided to split.

I think it's a sad fact that many parents, whether single or partnered, have no idea how to raise children and how to deal with the problems that arise. I think they feel that drastic measures are called for in drastic situations. I'm not excusing anything but where do parents turn to learn to cope?

I think being on television can contribute to some of the problems. The regular issues teens and young adults deal with (especially with a celebrity relative) can be stressful enough. Having those problems broadcast to millions of people each week only compounds that.

Married celebrities can also be driven to separation/divorce by having film crews around 24 hours a day. Just like with the kids, the couple is unable to have any privacy to live their lives. Some of the divorce threats are based on the ultimatum "either the cameras go or I go." I'm surprised the Osbournes were able to remain together, even though one of the kids decided not to take part. Kelly and Jack both got into trouble with alcohol and drugs, Kelly started a singing career, Sharon underwent cancer treatment and Ozzy nearly killed himself in an ATV accident.
