I go to the dollar store here in our town, quite often to look for bargains but I've learned my lesson on cheap cooking tools. After warped pans, burnt handles, handles that fell off of hot pans and melting issues, I've realized that, just as you said, you get what you pay for. So I've invested in some quality cookware. I actually LOVE the QVC line of Cooks Essentials. My grandparents bought me a set of 2 pans and 2 pots (all with lids) when I moved out to go to college about 6 years ago. To this day, they are the best in my set and I use them daily. I'm currently investing some more of them (different sizes for different dishes) now that I'm a stay at home and have expanded my cooking. I'd totally recommend them.
