Are you kidding me???!?!! I hope these cops are suspended. Of course he didn't answer the door at 03:00 AM. What a couple of morons to wake a guy up to tell him his door was unlocked. If it were me being woken up like that, I would sue.

Awww now thats what i call over doing the job a little dont you think!! I mean did they actually walk into the man house at that time of night. WOW!!! I wonder if the guy was upset at all. I am sure that he had no idea why police were in his house at that time of the morning though. Man what a sight to wake up to.

Unfortunately, I believe that these officers were right to do as they did. There were too many signs that something might be wrong in the home to not check into it.

Why were the kids afraid to wake the father? That alone is alarming, especially when there are uniformed police officers standing in your home.

If these officers had passed by and done nothing, and the gentleman who lived there was in danger, they would be criticized for ignoring the situation and not doing their jobs.

Kudos to people who are not afraid to make a difference in our lives.

I don't know why the police thought anything was wrong. I don't think it's unusual not to answer your door at 3:00AM.

Possibly because the door was ajar, the television was on, the garage door was open and the keys to his truck were in the ignition? These all qualify as suspicious signs to a police offer who is doing his job.

Especially in light of the push they are making to remind people to keep safety in their minds at all times.

Just my 2 cents...

I slept for so many nights with my door open.
It is not smart, but my boyfriend did it so many times.
In fact we slept last night with door open.
I am not sure if I would be happy in the middle of the night, but in other hand, maybe I have rather see police faces than thieves....

i wouldn't like it, that is not a good way to wake up. but there are occasional gangs that come around in our hood. so i'd rather have a policeman wake us that a burglarizing episode.

personally i would have done the same thing if i were the cops. i'm sure it'll be a different story if the cops did nothing and the guy woke up to find his home ransacked, children abducted and the truck gone. what are the cops supposed to do when they find a house totally unsecured? were they supposed to just leave it and hope for the best? it's really silly of the man to leave the keys in his truck, front door unlocked and four young children 'lying around'. what if a burglar had tried to ransack the house, saw that the children woke and recognised him, decided to kill all four of them? will the cops be spared if they had left the house alone because they didn't want to 'violate' him? dohdoh
