do u know the slight differences between the words: buddy, mate, pal, man, dude? which is the hot word in ur country or hometown?
my explanation is like this:
buddy--an informal American word meaning a friend.
mate--an informal British word meaning a friend, but popular in Australia
pal---an informal word meaning friend.

I call people "dude" most of the time. I tend to hear other people doing the same where I am too. I'm on America's eastern seaboard.
