My budget is being eaten up by gas and oil.

In this summer I planned to go places and have fun with my friends and family. The whole last summer I was on the bed after my right knee's operation so everyone was eager to see me this time around.
but now as the vacations have begun, I realized that all my money for this period has been eaten up by oil and gas.
Now, I can't travel much and have to be in confinements of my home.
How can i manage all this? What was your plan for the summer? and does the gas prices affecting your plans?

We were planning a trip to maryland from florida BUT it takes about 90 something dollars to fill up our dodge so there is no way we will be able to afford to travel that far. we are in florida by the way so that is alot of money on gas just to get there.. not to mention coming back and knowing our luck gas will have gone up a few sense while we are up there. its terrible.
