This may sound silly...but do animals cry too??

i'm really wondering if animals also cry... how can you say that it is crying??? sometimes when i see my dog or hear it like it shows that it is sad, i would comfort it and talk to it..i'm not really sure if animals also feel sad...but i always give my sympathy to show that i care eventhough they are only animals...^_^
