It is yellow outside and rather odd looking any ideas what it means?

I have looked on the the weather service and we have storms south of us but it is like 2 hours away yet it is yellow outside here now. It isn't raining here so I shouldn't have to worry about a tornado but I was always told that is a sign for one. Does anyone know of any other reason it could be yellow outside and no the sun isn't fully up yet. Just looking rather odd out there.
