Read stuffs that are written in English. Anytime you encounter words which you don't understand, consult a dictionary. Keep a little notebook handy and always write down on it any new word you've learned and its corresponding meaning. Also, you should try constructing your own sentences using those words. It's one effective way of building-up your vocabulary. Additionally, frequent reading of and participation in mylot discussions can be a good practice, too. You can do it!

Thanks for your advice..i will remember it and do it immediately..en,.,yeah ..this is my first discussion here..cause i want to improve my english ..so i found any website what can practise english ,now i found i love mylot cause you .. well i can make friends here..you have my word every time if you need learn mandarin i will help with it...i am very agree with your adevise frequent reading of and participation english..i think mylot can offer me these things ...i am a junior .the day time i need go to class ,..and after class when i back home ..i will open the computer and do the first thing go mylot..now i teach you three words when you in china you can say.??(hello)??(thanks)??(see you).i do not know what is the degree about your mandarin..if you need mandarin's phonetic sympol i will provide you this..the last hoping you have a nice day..??..thanks again..

hi there...nice to meet you...studying english is more to be conversant rather than theoretically dwell on perfecting the grammar...but i am not saying that you will ignore the grammar but more to understanding how to and when to say things..
i have learned english first in school but on how to say it and when to, i have learned a lot from watching english moveis repeatedly and i engaged myself in reading novels...i also watched american talk show like ophra, tyra banks and others...
maybe you can try any of those...about mandarin yeah i will thrilled to learn some....thnks

i am a junior..you know i am in china ,english is not our primary language since we are young..but now we learn english even we are 3 or 4 years old..english is as important as chinese ...the reason why chinese people take an so attach important to the english is after the development these years..chin is act an important role in the world .especially in my hometown shanghai ..well...you know why i want to imrove english so exigently..actually...i had passed the CET-4(a examination what test your english abblity..)..
upon all the ??(hah..we called everyone who mot the native) YOU all think mandarin is a diffcult language to you..if you wanna learn some ..i will glad to teach you.

That is great that you want to learn english.However I do not know what resources you have in China.Do you have free english classes there?Can you get self taught classes that you can do at home? I don't know what your financial situation is either.I will research some for you and get back to you.Iam glad to be your friend.
