yes dear otherwise what is the fun in simply posting something for discussion and then commenting on it .out of all the comments we as starters should mark one of them as the best response. there are points for both, the marker and the winner!so better do it right now.

Hi friend, i used to wait for more responses for my started discussion. But when responses become increased, i become confused to judge which is best. So i leave for some day. Thats why i have so many unresolved discussions. But now i try to give at sooner

Based on my personal experience, I have produced about twenty to thirty discussions here in mylot already. And some of these have gone unanswered for quite a long time now. But if in case, one of the other mylotters reply to them, I guess I'd still wait up for some time before declaring it as the best response to my discussion. I definitely don't mind if I do have several unresolved discussions. I'm not also giving up that sooner or later, one or two mylotters would reply to them. In fact, I have some discussions which have few replies but I still haven't chosen any best response for them. I'm giving myself a duration of less than a couple of years before finally giving a best response to discussions which I made but have less than five responses. Sometimes, among the three responses one receives to his or her discussions, he or she would find that one could be considered a best response already. But this is quite rare or extraordinary and it will absolutely depend on a person; if the response is sufficient or perfect for his or her discussion. I myself would like to help others who have discussions which are still unreplied to after several months until a year. Somehow, I feel that this is my own contribution to the decrease of the number of discussions without any responses. And through this, I am praying that they would also check on my own unreplied discussions.

I think it should depend on the quality of the response - eg. if 1 of the 2 or 3 responses was really good, and you have waited a few weeks, then you could still give them the good response as they have taken the time to make that response. If you don't like any of the responses enough though, then don't give it out.

I dunno if it is just me, but i dont like having unresolved discussions .. feels like a clutter. So, after starting a topic (i start way less than i should.. but meh, i prefer replying more) .. I wait for a 3-4 days then out of the ones already there, i markk the best one as BR. doesnt matters if it goes to the only reponse i got.

Hello sharay, I have a lot of discussions where I only get 2 to 4 responses. I guess my discussions were not that really catchy to attract responses. Despite that however, being the discussion starter I feel the need to select the best response among the responses that I received. Members took time and effort to post their response and I feel responsible to award the best response to that which I think best explained his thoughts on the discussion. Have a great day!

I normally give a best response when it seems that members have stopped replying to the discussion(usually after a few days nobody is replying to the discussion anymore) Tianna

i would give it a day or two to see if i can get more responses. but if i think that the response is good then i will mark it as a best response, it is based on you , you started the discussion so if you feel like out of the two you really like one then go ahead it's your show.

I suppose you're right. What's the point of marking the best response in there is no actual competition... Now, I'm here not long enough to actaully have any high traffic topics, and I don't know if one can change their mind about BR... But if not... Then you should totally wait till there is a reasonable number of responses...
