do u keep in touch with ur childhood friends in ur town? do they still live in ur hometown? if not, do u know where they r? my childhood friends are my primary school classmates, but now i don't keep any touch with any of them, but i know some of them are still living in my hometown, doing the farm work, coz i was born in farmer's family and i recieved higher education, so i'm working in a big city, but not for them. u know that saying "u can get beauties in the book, u can get tons of gold in the book, u can get a high positon from the book", which means that education makes a big diference. lol

Well some of them do and some of them don't. I was on a high school reunion about 3 years ago and some of them have moved in bigger towns because they work there and some of them are still in my hometown. Most of them who moved in bigger cities work like lawyers but I know several of them who are lawyers and came back to our hometown although they went to study in different places. We were mostly a class of nerds so most of my friends went to university, even my elementary school friends went to university.
I think that educations makes a big difference not only because you get gold and beauties out of books but also because once you leave your house and your hometown even if you come back the next time it is much easier to leave it again because you are used to it. I know so many people who had never left their home and they would never leave it even if you offered them a lot of money.

I have never heard of that saying before but yes, education does take you to levels you've never dreamed of. I still keep in touch with my childhood friends. Most of them have gone to work abroad and a few who are married with kids still live in the same place. Everytime I ask them how they are doing they always tell me the same thing, that they are fine but life is hard etc etc. Yet I don't see the effort. I just shake my head and realized to not complain too much about life everyday.

I came form an area that's impoverished, so many could not educate more after high school and do live there still after 30 years, becasue they cannot afford to move.
I went ot college and in the military and managed to get away. I do not, after so long, keep in touch.-They are nioce, but I have moved on and we don't have much in common anymore.
