Most older people believe in this that's why they urge their children to at least pursue and finish a course in college. And putting the money matters aside, they'll be even happier if their child chooses or decides to undergo a master's or doctorate degree in their respective fields. But in reality, and this I've observed for myself; some people who are just high school graduates get jobs and are heads of a department with several rank and file employees under them. I guess people are quite different. In some instances, we could say that education helps a person in attaining and achieving his or her goals. But he has to be capable of exerting required effort. While some undergrads are lucky enough to land a high-paying job, like call center agents, even if they are not as professionals as other individuals.

well i agree with it to a certain extent. a high school graduate will definitely get paid more at a job compared to one who didn't graduate. but getting a better job doesn't always mean more money. it can be a good job that doesn't require you to do anything illegal. it can be a job that gives more benefits than money. it can also be a job that gives you great satisfaction that cannot be bought with money. sometimes a person job hops as they think they deserve something better. it's really up to the individual to decide what is best for themself. cheers :D

Hi annrilyn, Education is usually tied to a better job, but I have my reservations when you talk about high education-I know of may people who have PHDs but have very lousy teaching jobs in back yard Universities in my country-they cant get jobs i either the public sector or informal sector just because the are OVER_QUALIFIED! How amazing?

I think some people got a stable job but not all of them. There are people who graduated school already but still they can't find jobs they want. It's almost a year they haven't find any job. We believe that finishing our school is the best way to make change our lives. But it depends on that person, if you'll just sit there and wait for the miracle nothing will happen. You should do some actions like submitting resumes to any companies, finding a job everyday, etc. Just in case there are companies who's interested to you they just call you up and take some exam and interviews.

It's really different between each individual. However, I do not believe that high education would get a better job. I haven't finished college and yet I became a manager handling people with degrees and masters. It depends mostly on the ability and skills of the individual. Most companies do target employees with better educational attainment however but some of them hired undergrads who bested most of the other employees. As for job stability, each of us have our own standards and will depend mostly on the cost of living and lifestyle of each which varies greatly. Also, we are different when it comes to preference of industry and work nature. A particular job may be good for a person but not for the other and vice versa.

hi all, i find it depends on the industy you work in, i'm in agricultural and i have done a few courses, and am a quailfied farm manager on paper, but don't have experience to do it. so it's not worth my effort applying for a job in that position. my resume is still in pieces after nearly 10 yrs, cause it's been reputation that gets me my job and i've been here for 4 yrs now. but i have been told, even thou you can have qaulfications to do a job. doesn't mean you get the job. like horse for example. you have gone for a job and there's 3 of you. 1 you have worked in the industy for a few yrs, 2 you have done the uni/collage course and have got you certifcate, and 3 you have worked in the industy and have also done the collage course, this gives you a new playing field. main thing is you know how to do your job correctly.

I guess I have to diagree with higher education = better job to a point. Getting a high school diploma is a nessessity these days and even someplaces require an associates (2 years of college) to get a job. I know people who didn't go to school at all and are making more money that me with a masters (6 years of college). The important thing to me is: is it required to go to college to do what you love do?

Now a days, higher education attainment is necessary to qualify for a better job. however attitude is the most important. it is how you can communicate to other people. and do the work where you apply for.

Higher education in and of itself is just one step to a better job. You need to make sure you clearly define your goals and then get the education you need to make them a reality. Just getting more education without a goal may not result in a higher paying job.

Halfway between. Oftentimes, attaining a higher level of educations means a bigger chance of getting a better job. But sometimes, some people who haven't even finished the elementary level became rich and known worldwide. All it takes is hard work and perseverance. You must also love your job for you to become successful.

Well it's better to say that a higher education = more job opportunities. Let's get real, a lot of companies nowadays are really searching for people who actually have higher education simply because they want to get what they think is best for their company. Regarding people with a good education that doesn't have a stable job could mean that they are yet to find the work that would give them fulfillment.

To my way of thinking, you may have more chance to getting a better job if you have high education, but it was not true that you will get a better job just for your high education.

It's true...High education means better job... Employers prefer applicants with a degree or higher rather than those undergraduates... Also, nowadays, lots of students graduate every year...so there's a high competition... It doesn't mean that you are a college graduate, you can easily land in a good, stable job...you have to compete with other graduates...You must have excellent academic records and other good qualities to get the best job you want...
