My kids need to memorize a five stanzas of poem and I need to gather different techniques so that I can teach it with my kids.
Kids, anyway, has a really fast memory, but if I guess if they have better techniques then it would be much better.
Right now, since my memory is becoming poor, I can memorize a poem by reading the sentences and repeat.repeat.repeat until I have memorize it.
I was observed that kids easily memorize the songs being played in a radio, or even adults too, so I guess it is one of the technique to considered. Do you have any? Please share. Thank you.

I would teach the poem to your children one stanza at a time. If your children are active, try having them engage in some sort of physical activity while they learn the words. At the next practice session, have them repeat the stanza you previously taught them and then begin the new one.
Hope that helps!

Hi,, well kids really memorize faster than older one.. I would suggest try to write it in a sheet of paper. Just like transferring it to another paper. Do it as many as he like or until he writes it without reading it anymore. In that, when he's going to recite it, it wouldn't that hard to think whats next in line. He will just think about what would be the intonation of each line.
I used to do that when I was in school. I found that technique when I got tired reciting it over and over. And I found it very useful.
Hope it can help your kids...

as for me, the best approach to memorize a poem is to read it over and over again. i find it to be the best approach since I've been memorizing many oratorical piece for quite a long time now.
you can read the lines and let your kids follow you again and again for them to master each line.
