I think that cats are easier to take care of cause they use the restroom in a box full of kitty litter but it all depends on the situation and the way the cat is living.

For me, cats are much easier to take care of...I am disabled, and its just alot easier for me to clean a litter box, than have to walk a dog 3 times a day.

Even I feel the same that Cats are easy to take care of but it is also important that the loyalty that is shown by dogs is much more than cats.
It is also important that only dogs respond to strangers negatively not the cats, so dogs provide a sense of security also.

People tend to say that cats require less attention than dogs, but I think that's a terribly irresponsible thing to say as a pet owner. No matter what kind of animal you own, you should still devote a great deal of time to that pet. As many veterinarians, breeders, and experts suggest, if you don't have the time, don't get a pet.
Both animals have somewhat different needs. It really depends on what you're willing to provide.
