Why my mum always nag me when I am at home?

I am working outside from my house now,meaning I am staying outside. I only go back hometown roughly twice a year,due to expensive air fares. I think the time I stay with my family now is extremely precious,but why my mum always like to nag me when I stay at home. Even small little thing,she talked about it,but when I am at outside,she only calls me up once a week. Sometimes really hard to understand parents' behavior and intention.Sigh
