Pregnant and on Depression Medicines

For about six months I've been of medicines for depression and ADHD. My hubby and I haven't been using any protection for several months now so I'm worried about getting pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a baby and really soon. What I'm worried about is how my medicines will affect my unborn baby if I am to become pregnant. Has anyone been in this situation and would like to give me some insight?
I've talked to my doctor about this and he said that he will try to take me off of the meds to see how I react. But, if being off the meds causes me conflict then he will try to put me on the best meds.

Some are safe to take while pregnant others are not so it just depends on just what you are on. I was given Zyprexa just before I got pregnant with my now 5 year old and stopped taking it as soon as I knew I was pregnant. He was born with a heart condition and all the literature I've read said that is common in babies born to mothers on Zyprexa....although his is mild and some of the heart conditions are serious and life threatening if the baby even makes it full term. In clinical trials of the small number who got pregnant while on it, 1/2 opted for abortions, all but 3 of the others miscarried, 1 baby was born with a life threatening heart condition, one was stillborn and only one was healthy...but it was a very small number of women, under 20 I believe. Anyway, I blamed his heart condition on the medication until my now almost 20 onth old was born. I took no medication at all while pregnant with him and he has the same condition only a bit milder so it appears that it was actually genetic and not environmental (birth defects are usually as genetic, environmental or "flukes").
Anyway, yes medications can affect an unborn baby, especially during the first trimester. But it's hard to say in your situation since different medications react differently. I hope things work out for the best either way!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it. I know it's all in God's hands but I like to help Him out as much as possible.
My doctor did say something about not taking the meds until later in the pregnancy, but only if I really needed them. My daughter was born with liquid in her lungs and asthma. I wasn't taking any meds with her. It was just genetic. She also had survey only about two years after she was born so I know it's different for every situation. It's nice to vent and get other people to give me opinions, so I had to post it here. I'm praying for the best either way.
