Have you ever known anyone with pancreatic cancer? | | I was wondering if you know anyone who has that have you ever known anyone to be cured of that, I know someone who has this illness and they have had lots of surgery and lots of chemo,
How likely is it that this person will still be alive in say five or ten years, they are in their early sixties now?
Also the cigarette smoking they are doing this will hasten their death isn't that right> I did tell them that it would but they will not listen to me at all.

Time will only tell it depends on the strength and energy of the person with cancer. It depends how fast the disease is growing, there is alot of ifs and I honestly dont think that it would be right for anyone to tell you a time line. My grandmother had cervical cancer and she lived with it for 15 years. But some cancers grow slow and other strands are very fast. it all depends on the strand of cancer.
I wish you and your family lots of strength and energy

AnnaB7 (338) | 1 year ago | Thank you very much, it is my father who has cancer, and he was told they can not give him any more chemo therapy,
I wish that no one had any health problems but they do.

grammasnook (1260) | 1 year ago | Anna the only advice I can give to you is that you tell him everyday you love him, or if you are mad at him you tell him that just be honest in everything. but always tell him you love him. He will not stop smoking the cigarettes it is too late for that so he might as well enjoy them while he can. "this is the way his thought process will go" I am sorry your family has to endure this cancer is a battle for not only the person for the whole family. Bless you all and take care!

AnnaB7 (338) | 1 year ago | Thank you, also my father is not the same one I mentioned about on another thread, his doctor told him he had six months to a year maybe, but his doctors have also told him recently that he is doing much better than expected,
my friend on the other hand is not doing as well, he has good days and bad, but a lot of down days, and that is discouraging to me, because I can't fix the things that are wrong,
some times i think life is very hard in some areas.

Savvynlady (2973) | 1 year ago | You asked if I knew anyone, and I have to say YES. my pastor was diagnosed with this around September, 2004; I believe he got it around June,2004 and by the following June,2005, he died. It was like watching a man who was robust, full of love, life and God just whittle down to a shell of what he was and it broke mine and a lot of the members hearts to see that. I still miss him and I was heartbroken when he passed, but he was in pain, and like my father, aunt and sister(they all suffered from some part of cancer)I am not mad they're not here, I'm more sad they are not here any longer is all. But yes I knew someone with Pancreatic Cancer.

AnnaB7 (338) | 1 year ago | My daddy is full of pain and I believe he is also in denial that he is dying because he does things the doctor tells him not to do, such as eatting extremely spicy foods, walking further than he should bending and carrying things, and just doing a lot of things he should not be doing, and sometimes he has to take a several nitro pills in order to make it up some stairs or something, he is not even supposed to walk up any stairs at all, and he will try to walk several miles a day. I hope he will recover but I doubt he will, he has said he is saved I hope that is true but I don't really know when I asked him he said he was but he will not go to any kind of church at all.

Savvynlady (2973) | 1 year ago | AnnaB, The best thing to do for your father is to be there. If he is close to the end(perhaps),urge him to get things right with the Lord before he goes and with others if need be because that is the thing. I have an aunt that died, and to this day, there are relatives that won't deal with others and it's sad for all involved.

AnnaB7 (338) | 1 year ago | I have tried to do that as much as possible, but at this point I really believe he will have to decide for himself, because no one can force anyone else to get saved or right with God, they have to decide to do that themselves, it would be good sometimes I think if we could make people see that they really do need to get saved but not everyone sees that in time and that is very sad.
But as long as he is living there is hope he will get saved so I am still praying for him, he did say at one point he was saved,, I hope that what he said was and is true, but I don't know for positive. Sometimes I really wonder,
Then too, I also wonder if all the medications he takes may effect his mind at times.
