a house or car? How about the most you've ever spent paying CASH only for one item? Having a yard sale has brought this question up and I can't really remember. I now I paid CASH for my first couple cars, around US$1000, but non-vehicle may have to be the couch I recently bought for $1500. How about everyone else?

the most expensive single item barring my home.. was my bed. never had a "new" bed before.. ever. all the ones ive had my entire life has been hand-me-down used items, including the mattresses.. i spent a little over a year hunting down THE perfect bed and THE perfect price. (im a scrounge for a bargain) its a solid cherry cali king platform.. and its HUGE!! (my husband and i both like to sprawl without winding up on top of the other LOL) retail cost was 8500 without the mattress, which is costly all by itself.. i got it for 1900 INCLUDING the mattress costs and shipping ..;buffs nails;.. absolutely love this freakin thing

You better love it for that price! I NEED a new bed badly, but I'm too cheap right now to get a good one!

The most I ever spent on one item was $260 for a all-in-one printer-xerox-scanner thingy from hp. And while it serves me great, I much prefer the highheel shoes that I bought for $170... Yeah. I know. But all it takes for me is to fall in loe with an item and I have to have it.
