This is a very popular channel that offers so many types of cooking shows from Rachel Ray (my personal favorite) to Bobby Flay. Do you watch the Food Network and, if so, what's your favorite show and what, if anything have you learned from it? Has it improved the way you prepare food in any way or how you shop for food?

I like watching the Food Network occasionally. My favorites are when they have to make the cake challenges. I just watched one last night, in fact. It is truly amazing to me how that master it. It seems like a lot of fun, but I would not want to be under all that pressure of being timed. If I ever wanted to do something like that, I would just open up a bakery or something the likes of and take orders. That way, I would have no time limit of a few hours, but rather days or weeks. I would only take orders that gave me enough time to finish them. I am simply not a very speedy person when it comes to baking. xD

I was just talking about the cake challenges with a group of friends last night. I am also amazed at some of the creations. Unfortunately for me though, I'm not much of a baker, but I do envy those who can bake.

I love to watch Paula Deen!
And I have been to her Savannah restaraunt and have used a few of her recipes, like the cheesy biscuits! YUM!
My grown sons love to wathc the Iron Chef and they have learned to try a few things out from there! (Great for young men to learn from when it comes to cooking!)
It's a good channel for the entire family.

Oh yes, I love Paula Deen. Her recipes are so delicious and worth having, but only once in a while. I also love to hear her talk!

I have watched it in the past and enjoyed it, but I am afraid that I don't watch it often because I know myself. I will start wanting to cook everything and I'll end up 100 pounds heavier than I am now. LOL

No I don't watch the food network, but I don't have a TV, so there are A LOT of TV stations that I don't watch. LOL I have a couple of friends hough, who watch The Food Network faithfully, and who have a lot of favourite shows.

yes i do most of the time. i watch reruns of the 30-minute meal with rachel ray. i also watch everyday italian, iron chef america, wolfgang puck and more... all of them are my favorites. my favorite chef is wolfgang puck. i learned how to improve the taste of food, which ingredient or spice mix better with something... i improved in selecting and buying ingredients and spices. i think i am able to cook pasta and prepare sandwiches much better and tastier (",)
