I was just browsing the latest headlines on the net..and i came across the interesting piece of news that planet mercury has shrunk in size by more than 1.5 kms..
Really i can't believe this.. Data from a flyby of Mercury in January 2008 show the planet has contracted by more than one mile (1.5km) in diameter over its history.
Scientists attribute that reason might be the planets core has cooled out..
This still creates in me a greater confusion.. because the planet mercury is close to the sun.. and it has greater temperature than that of the other planets.. If the core of Mercury could cool.. and there is a reduction in size.. will not the planets farther from the Sun.. like Neptune and Pluto... has its size contracted..?
Might be some logics involved...do you know friends?

Hi saivenkaat802003! Yes, I do agree so. Logic dictates that the other planets could have shrunk too and maybe our planet too. However, other planets including ours, may have some other characteristics that could have repelled such effect. However, i am no scientist and I am no expert on this things; so just ignore my response because I just wanted to say HI to you my friend! haha..
Take care and God bless!
