drive in movies are very far and few here in australia and there is one about 45 minutes from my place.my children have never been to a drive-in ,so i thought this would be a treat in the school holidays.in my youth we use to always go to the drive-in movies, but all the drive-ins are nearly all gone and i think there is only about 2 or 3 still left in our state.i actually miss the drive-in movies.do you still have drive-in movies where you live.what things do you miss that you enjoyed in your youth and are not available now.cheers sue

Hi sue, it’s really cool to let your kids to experience watching the drive in movies during their school holiday. I believe you and children surely had spent a wonderful and unforgettable time there.
Nowadays I could hardly find any drive in movies in my place anymore.
I still remember in my youth days, I did pass by a drive in movies several times and I was so keen to watch the movies there, but I didn’t have any chance to enjoy the attractive movies there for that time I was still young and didn’t own any car yet, and my family as well. I passed by there sometimes inside a taxi or in friends’parents’ car.
From the chatting with friends, I know that if the car is full with passengers, it’s indeed much cheaper to watch the drive in movies than that in the cinema as we have to pay for a single car only but not per head. Anyway it’s still worthy if there is only a couple inside the car for they could enjoy their sweet time watching movies there with more privacy.
posting and have a nice day.

yes it is definately worth the money.we are going to go again when it gets a bit warmer and take our deck chairs and sit outside the car,you just need a portable radio to hear the movie, and you can set up tables and have a picnic.so that will be a lot of fun.cheers sue

The drive in theater in your place is very much different to that which I had passed by in the earlier days. I saw all the audiences watching movie just sitting inside their cars and none of them were outside the vehicles.
I like the drive in movie park in your place very much.
It is really cool
for you and family could enjoy having fun, a wonderful picnic to enjoy the foods and drinks while watching movie at the meantime outside the car. I bet your children must be very keen to have the second visit to the drive in movie theater again.
posting and take care.

I haven't been to a drive in threate since I saw Star Wars the first time in 1977! What a gret time the kids will have there! I remember my mom having the speaker hooked onto the window and the smell of popcorn! Wow! This is something great! When the movie was all over and we left I was wondering why these few cars where left in the lot. Hmm. Live and learn. Great post! I hope they enjoy their trip and their holiday!

wow, i haven't tried drive in movies. i'm not sure whether there is something like that here in the philippines. i'd like to try it sometime. one of the things i missed in my youth where the chips being sold in a nearby store, they usually cost 1 peso only per pack. most of the chips are filled with cheese. yummy...

thats a shame you don't have any din movies over there.we use to have heaps of them here about 20 years or so ago, they have been phased out and there are only about 2-3 still in our state.i hope these still stay around for years to come ,as they are so much fun.cheers sue
