I am taking the children to the drive in movies. |
|
drive in movies are very far and few here in australia and there is one about 45 minutes from my place.my children have never been to a drive-in,so i thought this would be a treat in the school holidays.in my youth we use to always go to the drive-in movies, but all the drive-ins are nearly all gone and i think there is only about 2 or 3 still left in our state.i actually miss the drive-in movies.do you still have drive-in movies where you live.what things do you miss that you enjoyed in your youth and are not available now.cheers sue

1. Goodie123 (7174) | 3 months ago | All the drive-ins within a couple of hundred klms of me, Are now housing estates Sue. Everything is being demolished for houses. It is so stupid, Soon there will be no forest left at all either. Sheez I have not been to the drive in for at least 30 years now. you sure are lucky to have found one still operating.

suehan1 (1776) | 3 months ago | yes i am lucky i actually heard them advertise on our local radio today and i looked them up.you only pay for the car and that is $20.00 per car and you can have up to 8 people in the car.so they have 3 movies showing and it cost $40.00 to see all of them.thats a bargain when you pay $15.00 a person to go to the cinemas.it is near newcastle and the only other one i know exists is the other side of sydney.i really do miss the drive-ins as well.cheers sue

2. kingcrapper (964) | 3 months ago | I haven't been to a drive in threate since I saw Star Wars the first time in 1977! What a gret time the kids will have there! I remember my mom having the speaker hooked onto the window and the smell of popcorn! Wow! This is something great! When the movie was all over and we left I was wondering why these few cars where left in the lot. Hmm. Live and learn. Great post! I hope they enjoy their trip and their holiday!

suehan1 (1776) | 3 months ago | i had a good chuckle with this response.yes i wonder about those few remaining cars/lol.yes we had some great times when we were kids with mum and dad.we would even sit on the roof.or even take the deck chairs and sit around the speaker outside the car.if any of us kids would get tired we would just fall asleep in the back seat.great fun.cheers sue
