Do you talk to your plants ?

I know of a lot of my friends who talk to thier plants while doing thier gardening activities. I've asked them about it and they have reasoned with me saying that its because they treat the plants as they would thier pets and find that communicating or having positive thoughts to the plants is beneficial to thier growth. Now we all talk to our pets, so why should there be anything wrong with talking to our plants?
